Sycko Radio 6950 USB 0050 UTC 25 SEP 2023
« on: September 25, 2023, 0051 UTC »
Talk into music at 0050z. SIO 422. Peaking ~S9 via Tecsun PL-330 and active miniwhip. Moderate to strong band noise and static crashing at the moment here.

0118z - Trending SIO 433 with moderate static crashing.

0228z - Multiple IDs, though I was occupied, so I did not catch it. Anyone else?

0232z - SSTV. My SDRs are offline tonight, so no decode.

The IDs with distorted audio do not sound like Sycko Radio, but clearly catching it on my PL-330 is probably not happening with current band conditons here. Maybe with phonetics. Apologies to the broadcaster, DJ, etc. Anyone else catch it? If someone knows, we can update the thread title.

~0248z - Off air.

0303z - Back on air. Hopefully I can snag a clear ID during this session.

0312z - A clearer ID sounded more like Sycko Radio that time.

Thanks to myteaquinn for the SSTV decodes to verify ID. :)

0314z - SSTV

0341z - SSTV, then off air.

Thanks for the broadcast! :)

053- OM with an audio clip saying something about "Star Wars," over mash-up of sound effects and changing music.
054- Eclectic and mellow instrumental/tonal music with bongo and bell sounding percussion, repeating.
058- Audio clips of talking, over the continuing music (including "Where do you come from?" and "Who ARE you?" with laughing).
101- Ethereal keyboard music.
104- OM (sounding like Mr. Sycko) speaking over music, with mention of Sycko Radio, the internet, and "whoever you are..." something, over the music.

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Tuned in at 0200 utc on Brookfield WI sdr with noisy S7 to S9 signal, punk rock tune, talking then short SSTV/FAX then more talk,
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Fair to good reception with a stuck record at 02:00 UTC.  Into Masset, BC.  Almost another hour until LSS.  A brief SSTV signal at 02:02, but I didn't have my program on to decipher.
Off at 02:48 after a SSTV image, but too weak to get much content from it.  I was hoping for improved conditions but didn't happen, and agree that there was a modulation problem, so not just me!
