I got an e-mail to my radioanarchy@yahoo.com  from Yahoo Inc.

It was real, not a webpage forgery / SPAM.

It said they went through my contacts and deleted the invalid
e-mail address for me.

I checked, and they did delete accounts..

How nice of them to do what is best for me ! ! !

so what web based e-mail services are out there that are
kinda secure ? ? ?

any that hide your IP address ?

and won't get into who I e-mail to, or who are my contacts

(P.S. - yes, I understand this was done by a computer most likely.. but still...)

Gmail doesn't pass along your IP-- as long as you use it through their site/page.

I use Privatdemail.net (Egypt) and Rediffmail.com (India) nowadays. Both are out of the US/EU spying jurisdiction.

Privatdemail requires a client, but has full SSL, POP/IMAP and strips the IP on send.
(Cannot be used to send/receive to/from Israel though)

Peace!

Please don't take offense: I know a little about India. An infected country of a "corruption mentality" if Ever there was one. Any further comment?

USA too... and Canada. They all are in their way, just not as blatant as the NSA or Indian local govt's.

Big difference though....  India and Egypt don't give a crap about a N.A. pirates and the US will have a better time extraditing Snowden than executing a warrant on an Indian or Egyptian email service ;)

Peace!

I think everyone is in a state of denial . There is no secure e-mail .
If you want security radio is still your #1 option ,just a little unpredictable that's all.  ;)

Short , pre scheduled  , no names ,disposable  call signs , split frequency .

Lets pretend that it was an aircraft carrier the military industrial complex gave us  instead of the internet ( as really happened ). Do you think that they would have given us all the secrets along with it , not kept track of what we were doing with it and left live ammunition on the boat ? Hell no ! The interweb has been a phy-op from the get go people . The twisted wet dream of all the Nazi's that fled to the US with "paperclip"  and took it over 68 years ago . If you want to keep track of people computers are the tool for you as they well knew having used good ol American made IBM computers to herd up their prey for the ovens. Every person that went through the camps had an IP address tattooed on their arms.

Two choices ,don't use it , or be prepared for the consequences when you do !

Reminds me of....

"If a thief wants it, he'll get it!" - cop's statement to the press as the Mercedes with $4000 security system went missing in 1/2 hour of being parked.
(from a Playboy article on vehicle security)

In the spring Yahoo announced it was going to be eliminating a lot of seldom used email accounts. My guess is that's what's going on.

I did happen to see an non-redacted map of Area 51 before it was released the other day. Plain as day was a rectangular looking structure with the following notation, "Al Fansome's trailer".

Yahoo should concentrate more on improving their email service.  Their recent 'update' sucks.
An AM radio Boombox DXer.
+ GE SRIII, PR-D5 & TRF on MW.
The usual Realistic culprits on SW (and a Panasonic).
