Red Mercury Labs 6935 kHz USB 0317 UTC August 23 2013
« on: August 23, 2013, 0320 UTC »
No ID heard yet, 6935 USB, August 23, 2013, started about 0310 or so.

Sounds like a few BOC cuts about 0318.  Audio also might be Red Mercury Labs.

T!

(edit)  Changed freq in the subject line to 6935 U, where the station was all the time.  Maybe I am the one who should be on meds Dr.

(edit 2)  Station off air at 0343z, back on at 0349z, and it is RML ;)

(edit 3)  The Highwaymen song at 0439 was great.  I have that on vinyl aroundhere someplace.

I know my meds are kicking in right now but I've got it @ 6935 USB.  Nice S7 signal and audio making it through the high noise level here.  Does sound like RML.  Sounding good @ 03:54.  Thanks for the show RML!

Via home receiver and indoor antenna:
UNID 6935 USB 8/23/13 0340z: Some Dio-sounding sorta hollerin' music, Boys Don't Cry "I Wanna Be A Cowboy", more sorta-metal tons-o'-vibrato hollerin' music.
0347z: Off or dead air... can kinda hear something in the background, maybe just pesques.
0349z: Anncr chatter, mention of lighthouse... darned local RFI buzzing making it tough to copy, but your signal is good.  Mentioned signal reports, email, Dr. Strangelove.
0353z: Red Mercury Labs ID, Live "Lightning Crashes"
0359z: Shout-out to moi, thanky kindly, sir.
0410z: CCR "Run Through The Jungle"
0417z: Coldplay "Talk"
0429z: Coldplay "The Scientist"
0435z: Cows "Mooing in Stereo".  I tipped them in a pasture in San Diego in the 1970s.  Good times.
0450z: Sign-off ID and Leonardo Skeonardo "Simple Man"

Good signal, punching through heavy local RFI, SINPO=32443.  Thanks!  I'm not hearing much this year via the home receivers, nice change from using the remote web tuners.

Had to turn off local receiver after 0415z, local RFI is horrendous.  Switched to eastern remote tuner, not quite as strong as here in Texas but no RFI problems.  SINPO=34343.

First noted at 3:19 during DX dog walk with ATS909x. I thought there might have been an ID at about 3:26 but as I tried to adjust my grip on the radio right at that time I accidently engaged the "AUX IN" button on the left side causing the audio to stop. That is one thing , really the only thing I hate about that radio. It happens when I hold it in a particular way. the signal on the UN'ID was pretty weak on the barefoot portable & was occasionally lost in the noise.

Recheck at home on satellit 750 & 30 meter random wire finds RML at S9+20

S7 with typical summer storm static crashes

Male Announcer: "Just sort of lost at sea..."
Male Announcer: "I really like this song..." (female singer, no idea)
0450: "I'm going to play one more song, I heard it when I was a kid..."
"...wish I would have paid attention to it when I was younger..."

Nice S-5 signal into Northern Canada over S-0 noise. Audio sounds pretty good for SSB music.

SDR recording catch. 0311 sign on with Peter Gabriel "Big Time".
S9+10 signal, some static from t-storms, but overall good.
