11.253 "Mystery" Volmet back on 5450?
« on: October 17, 2013, 2112 UTC »
Anyone recall the mystery volmet station that popped up on 11.253 a few months back and then disappeared.? I believe it's back up on 5450 USB. Similar preamble "Military times 3 Lot 1 Broadcast" on this new station. The audio clip is rough and difficult to hear but I definitely copied Indian Lake was one of the locations for metro given.

5450 USB monitored via Austria Remote 2030 HRS GMT 10-17 Thursday

That is RAF volmet - 5450 and 11253 are the usual freqs, but it pops up on a few others from time to time.

Yes, 5450 and 11253 kHz are the "normal" frequencies for this, in August it was up on 11159 kHz, which was unusual.

Yea, my bad guys.  Checked for a VOLMET listing for 5450 but didn't see one.  Will do a bit more research in the future.
