Splattery, sounds like it could be someone's transmitter producing spurs. Its S9 here---it seems strongest from 6920-6960 here

While I am watching it, it seems ro be dropping down the band some what.

Cease at 2344  and then it is back before 0000

oh good, I thought I had something wrong here.  Yes, I also have it from about 6900 - 7050 right now.
Stopped (or at least got much weaker) at 0001z.
Its back and even wider, but not as strong, @ 0013z, about 6870 to 7070 khz.

Seems to be gone @ 0040z
