Hello all, a friend of mine from INSMA recorded this odd numbers station broadcast. Hopefully we could either get an ID on this station or regard it as a spoof. Regardless it transmitted several times today on 14340 kHz.

Below are several recordings.

As said before, hopefully we can ID this station or regard it as a spoof.

Thank you all!

Hi, that's an interesting one. Could indeed be a fake. It sounds like they composed a message from recorded EAM letters and words. But then again it could be a real one as well. At what times were the transmissions?

The letters and numbers are synthesized, possibly using two different voices.  Notice the pronunciation of "declination", typical text to speech issue.  The same station was heard on 10 MHz also.

My guess is a fake, and a poor one at that, at least the format could be more consistent.  Also notice that all frequencies seen so far have been inside ham bands (both 30 and 20 meters).  Although now that I posted that I bet we see some a bit outside the bands.

Of course I thought the same thing about EV01 when we first saw it, so maybe not.

The transmissions on 14340 were at 1515z 1545z and at 1600z.

There was another transmission on 10115 at 2300z.

This station transmitted again at 2320z on 10115 kHz. I managed to record the message.

We can't jump to conclusions here, but we'll definitely keep an eye on it.

Has any one had any luck lately? I have not heard a thing here on the east cost yet.

Alas, I heard the end of the 1515 transmission on the 9th but nothing at 1545 and 1600 and I didn't have time to tune in yesterday or today

I heard several of these transmissions on the 15'th & regarded it as a fake. As Token said, the ham band thing makes me think it was just someone messing around.

They need to standardize on a frequency for the spoofs, so we know where to listen :-)
