Rock solid S8 here at 2036 UTC with "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"-Hollies followed by WRKO ID into "Rainy Night In Georgia"...
2041 "Bobby Mitchell Show" into Schlitz Malt Liquor ad.
2042 WRKO jingle followed by "Do You Believe In Magic"-Loving Spoonful
2044 "The Rapper"-Jaggerz
2048 Who'll Stop the Rain-CCR
{Some serious time travel here! I feel like I'm back in high school listening to the local AM top 40 outlet. Nice to hear this blast from the past!}
2052 "Easy Come Easy Go"-Bobby Sherman{oh well, every apple has it's worms}
2117 ID..."Hit Parade Radio" repeated with email address for reports
2133 ID repeated with email for reports and QSL requests...off abrupt 2134
{Thanks for an enjoyable show! Felt like I was reliving my teenage years for a spell. I measured the frequency at about 6948.1. Great signal throughout with minor selective fading. Nice to hear those songs again (except for Bobby Sherman and the T-Squares!) If you QSL from the site logs, I would be happy to receive one. I have another half hour of details if necessary.}
PS. I don't recall being able to hear WRKO here in Western Mass...we listened to WHYN AM and WTXL AM...in the early part of the 1970's, WAQY FM(ex-WTYM?) and WHVY FM(ex WMAS) switched to MOR and AOR format.

Skipmuck, no,  WRKO could not be heard very well west of their Burlington, MA transmitter, getting to Interstate 495 after dark is even a problem.

In early 1970, local WTXL-1490 AM had a great top 40 format and a Thursday evening Top 10 countdown called "Breakout". I would wait in anticipation of what was going to be number 1 that week...15 years old and the world was at my feet! WHYN-AM 560 also had a top 40 format, but in the early hours after midnight would play album cuts like "The End" by the Doors, the long version of IN-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, etc. Things just ain't like they used to be....
