The Drifty Crystal - 6920 LSB 0155 UTC 01 Feb 2014
« on: February 01, 2014, 0208 UTC »
oops.  I meant 6920LSB.  updated topic heading.

S7 here, my first time hearing them.  Pretty good audio.  Played "Hold on Tight" by ELO. Several clear ID's (and a few unclear ones).
OM said they were in western US.  Mentioned HFU.
Mention of too many pescs on 6925khz
Live time-check @ 0205
Playing some Peter Tosh reggae @  0207z
Days of the Week by STP @ 0212z
Shoutout to me @ 0213z  ---   Thanks!
Said he was running low power.
Mention of XFM's great AM signal.
Into "Friday on My Mind" by The Easybeats @ 0215z
"The Shape I'm In" by The Band
"I Know You're Out There" by Moody Blues  getting some ute qrm (or some distortion) during this song.
Was apparently distortion.

Much better audio @ 0238 with "Love Caught Up to Me" by Dwight Yoakam
Heavy distortion is back during the Rascal's tune @ 0240z.  Suddenly cleared up @ 0242z
Still S6 and during final Outlaws song and 'goodnight folks'.  Off @ 0335z
Someone else came on and said 'thanks for the show'.

Thanks for the show!  nice tune selection too.

The Drifty Crystal, 2-1-14, 0220-0334*, S6 to S8 here at 0220.  Pretty Woman at 0229.  A tune by Dwight Yoakum then the Rascals  (rf in the audio it sounds like with this tune)  Edit, cleared-up quickly by op and back to normal.  After that, Sugar Magnolia by the Greatful Dead.  S3 to S5 now at 0245.  After that, occasionally back up to S6 now with Black Magic Woman.  Playing lots of "tear-jerker" tunes for all the heart-broken pirate radio dx'ers out there tonite.  Moody Blues at 0305 with Tuesday Afternoon.  After that, the Moody Blues and Wildest Dreams........Op identifies himself as "The Ol' Man."  Bouncing around at S3 to S5 at 0319.  Closing out the show with "Green Grass & High Tides" by the Outlaws.  Attached is an ID clip

Please QSL. Thanks.

Good signal strength here, but there's some distortion on the signal, like a component of the audio is kind of growling along  with the part that sounds cleaner. Roy Orbison version of "Pretty Woman"

Fair signal here just above noise at 0236 with Dwight Yoakum tune, Man announcer at 0239 ID'ing song into a distorted version of "I've Been Lonely Too Long"-Rascals, Man with short chat..."Sugar Magnolia came into my life" into...0243+ "Sugar Magnolia"-Grateful Dead. Signal S3 at best but audio much better during the Dead tune!
0250 "Black Magic Woman"-Santana
0254 Shoutouts into "I Want You"-Bob Dylan{some distortion at first, but cleared up mid song!}
0259 ID! Into electronica vocal tune
0303 "It's Over"-Roy Orbison
0306 DJ chat about love lost...into "Tuesday Afternoon"-Moody Blues
Sudden S7+ peak at 0308...power increase? Nice! Maybe just good prop
0310 "Wildest Dreams"-Moody Blues
0315 Thanks for the shoutout! Yes the xmtr is doing just fine tonight!
0320 DJ chat...mention that the SSB doesn't do justice to the bluegrass...maybe fire up the old AM broadcaster some time...
0321 signal fading into the noise, but still can hear a C&W tune.
0324+ DJ said going to be signing off with one last tune...
0325 "Green Grass & High Tides"-Outlaws
{Hey Drifty Crystal guy...thanks for the tunes!}

Also an SDR recording catch here. Same details as noted by others. Signal peaking to S7 here in the Boston burbs. Announcer seems to alternate between IDing as Drifty and Drifting Crystal.
