I've not seen any logs since last fall. He was always a tough catch here, due to his frequency/time combos, so I rarely tried to hear him.  Plus he doesn't QSL  :P

Would a form for donations to his radio ministry qualify as a QSL? I'd be willing to bet he would send one of those out.

Absolutely. Unless you heard him on an SDR, I understand some DXer doesn't think that counts  ;D

He passed away, but resurrected a few day's later. He can dx and transmit tones by just using his will and his flocks of flying penguins to string wires in the air.

There's a shrine to him going up in Shady Acres, FL. A Stingray bike and Monkee's records would be appreciated as donations.

Can someone post those pictures here? I don’t have a Facebook account so it seems I can’t access them :P

Songs are identified with Shazam if needed. I usually use KiwiSDR receivers. Reception from my QTH is using an SDRPlay RSP1A for SWL with a 40 meter band Inverted V at 40 feet. Kenwood TS-570D for ham use.

Moof, his profile picture is enough. He graduated from HS in 1972 and decided to stay in that year.

We've got a lot of old commune hippies here still living the life. I should fix him up with "Lizard Lady". She lives in a little school bus and is living proof of why light skinned blondes should never go out in the sun. Look's like an old catchers mitt.

The Dude abides, man.

I doubt he would suddenly care after ignoring that notice and continuing broadcasts for eight years.

No thanks.

When I first started pirating my old phone number got out. I used to get calls from a guy who wasn't sure if I was Radio Bob or Al Fansome? (I'll admit the cheap mic I was using made me sound like Radio Bob on the air.) He calls one night and yell's, "Goddammit Bob, I know it's you!" He was from up North and everyone w/ a Southern accent probably sounded the same to him?

When the Fansome calls started I noticed the number on that new-fangled invention known as "Caller ID" matched up with the Radio Bob caller. I waited until about 2:30 AM on Wednesday and returned one of his call's. A woman answers and she's not very happy about being awakened. I explained to her my wife had got a call about 10:30 asking for Al Fansome and I tell her I'm not him, it's a pirate radio alias. She growls, "I'll go get the guy who's been calling you." and I can hear the doppler shift in her yelling as she heads down the hall to get him up, that woman was on the warpath. She yell's "Get up! That man you've been pestering is on the phone. You and that damned pirate radio!" and she berates him all the way to the phone.

He gets on the phone and I tell him "My name isn't Al Fansome, why are you calling here all the time?" He goes, "I was looking for an old Army buddy of mine named Al Samson." I say, "Sure you were. And you were looking for your old pal Radio Bob when you were calling here a couple months ago? Don't call me again, I know your name and phone number, I can find out where you live.", and hung up

I never heard from him again.

There are a lot of weird people in this hobby, both op's and DX'er's. Have someone tell you the story of "Lad" of "Voice of The Night". He's in a Kentucky prison for the second time, he's at least a two time felon. It's hard to tell what he did as a juvenile, the records are sealed.

That's funny; I was just looking at this thread yesterday on the Wayback Machine.

Lad kidnapped his HS girlfriend from a sorority house at the University of Kentucky, put her in the trunk of his car, and led Kentucky State
Police on a long car chase down I-64 towards his hometown of Ashland, KY. They put a spiked strip across the eastbound lanes of I-64 and got our dear Lad. His folk's money couldn't save him from prison, where I figure he was very popular?

He got out and started harassing another young lady from the Ashland area while also bothering the woman he'd kidnapped. Parole violation and back to prison he went. It was fun living in the same media market as young Lance in those days.
