https://www.rigpix.com/gmrs/radioddity_x1pro.htm     Huh??? Mid-power is 5W, with High-Power at 7W? The Low Power at 1/2W seem good though, but that Mid-Power? What's the point, unless that Mid can be configured to anything? Other-wise, looks like a neat HT for GMRS.
The best two statements of advice that I've ever gotten are from my brother-in-law in the early 1990's. 1st one, when I bought a used '89 Olds Cutless, my bro-in-law said, "Congratulations!!! You've just bought a deficit!". The other, was on a work environment, " No mater where you go, it's going to be f***'ed -up!". No truer words have been spoken.

Wow 7W??

Alot of people dont bother to pay the FCC to use the airwaves so why give them that much power??

Things might end up like 11m!!

I think they like to have a record of everyone who has one IN CASE there is a problem they dont have to spend time trying to find the signal.......

GMRS may become like 11M CB? Well... The worst harm that I could see there is repeater disruptions from douchebags. However, due to the nature of 462 / 467MHz FREQ's, I doubt that you're going to hear 1kW UHF linears burning up Tropo Propagation from Needle Benders & Mudducks. (Fo' 10, fo' 10!!!)
