Blue Ocean Radio 6925 USB 0142 UTC 20 Apr 2014
« on: April 20, 2014, 0146 UTC »
6925USB Blue Ocean Radio came one after Hot Radio went off the air (with no sign of change in the signal strength) at 01:34 hrs, then theme song from 2001 Space Odyssey and open tune with ID's given by YL for Blue Ocean Radio, then into Hillbilly /Banjo Music at 01:42 hrs.   Me believes that Blue Ocean Radio was the relay'er for Hot Radio? anyway looks like a another great program from Blue Ocean Radio but I'm hearing another pirate coming in underneath as I am typing this.mmmmmmmmm

Just above the high noise floor here at 0244 UTC....lots of snap, crackle, and pop....must be a storm somewhere! I believe this is my first log of BOR!
Reception tonight has taken a turn for the worse...music at Euro level...well, except for the finger picking music! Don't hear much bluegrass from overseas! We have bluegrass, they have polkas...

Tuned in at 0300utc, fair/poor, bluegrass and C&W music, R2000 & dipole.
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Intuned at 2:44z while taking my dog out to check her pee mail. Listening on PL660 heard fair signal with very low noise. Positive ID at 2:50z while i was in an electrically quiet part of the neighborhood with few streetlights. Back home the signal is not really much stronger on big antennas/radios & there's more noise but still an enjoyable show. Thanx BOR. Great tunes.
