Lord Hee Haw 6925U, 7/10, 0402+
« on: July 10, 2014, 0431 UTC »
Nice signal with big band music, including "Thanks for the Memories" & "Let's Go Slumming." I've heard four songs so far & no IDs at the breaks.
ID of Germany Calling, taken from the WWII-era broadcasts from the DJx stations. Not sure if this is the pirate Germany Calling or if someone else is reusing those IDs. In the past, the Germany Calling pirate had only used 6940 kHz and AM, not this freq or mode.

Thanks for the show!
Andrew

Hearing them S=7, great audio, very little fading, etc.  Heard spoken ID ca. 0445 "You are listening to Lord Hee Haw on 6925 kilohertz (or "kilocycles"?)" and back into sometimes satirical big band music, including "Jews Are Driving  Me Crazy" to the tune of "You're Driving Me Crazy" etc.   They have been on the air tonight since at least ca. 0400 or so, tuned in then to "Lili Marlene" and armchair copy ever since!  Thanks for the program, Lord Hee Haw!  Well done!  0500 GMT rapid CW (too fast for me to copy) and then back to some pretty darned peppy music, about the "Yanks on the Banks of the Wabash" etc!  Great program and signal here on the Western Coastal Flatlands!

Heard here on the SDR recording from 0402 until 0517 UTC. Generally a pretty good signal, S7 to S8. Some static, but that added to the authentic feel of the broadcast :-)

I edited the thread title based on the ID heard.

Again, with notes from last night: "0500gmt., 6.925usb., strong signal, 0515 sounds like beer garden/pompous
music from the '30's, just missed male voice @ 0516 & Morse code...off. Strong signal, no fade."

Recorder Catch on 6925 USB

Very nice S7-S8 signal here with details as others have noted.  Even tho I seemed to be a few hertz off in tuning, I got good audio capture for the entire duration of the show.

Thanks LHH!
