Radio Appalachia 6935 AM 0035 UTC DEC 29, 2014
« on: December 29, 2014, 0038 UTC »
AM, but USB covered by ute. Man talking about nickname and man playing a banjo intro to a banjo picking tune at 0037 UTC.
0041 UTC The signal is definitely AM, but the USB is getting crunched by ute QRM. Best in LSB and S7 peaks!
Some nice banjo picking tuneage whoever you be! :)
0051 UTC "Old Kentucky Home"? (Frequency now at 6934.9 KHZ)
0054 UTC Man announcer..."Radio Appalachia, the Voice of the ? Valley
0055 UTC "Ring of Fire"-Johnny Cash
0057 UTC Live intro by Johnny Cash into live version of "I Walked The Line" :)
This was followed by more live Johnny Cash
0106 UTC Southern accented Lady with guitar singing a gospel tune
0110 UTC Man singing a C&W tune
0114 UTC Signal is buried in the noise and ute QRM....maybe gone?

Thanks for a little bit of Southern Comfort Appalachia! :) Didn't catch an address ???

Please QSL? Chris Bagge

Blue Grass music with heavy QRM from utes on 6.935 usb and 6.930 usb. Still a clear signal on LSB. S9 most of the time.

Good Bluegrass music
ID (lost in buzzing from utes)
Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash monolog into I Walk the Line

Thanks for squeezing the show in. Appreciate the pirate radio tonight!

S9 here at 0139 UTC (12/29) but there's a utility station right on the USB side that is making reception a little challenging.

Just tried 6935 and not a hint of carrier.
Drake R8, Kenwood R-2000, Panasonic RF-4900, Sony 2010, Realistic DX440, Grundig Satellit 500, 7mhz backyard dipole, Mt Prospect, IL 20miles (32km) NW of downtown Chicago. I have been using online receivers because of strong data hash interference in my neighborhood that I believe is caused by Uverse squeezing up to 100mb/sec through ordinary pairs of wires. I don't have Uverse but neighbors do. williamhassig@yahoo.com

Turned on the radio after a really long Xmas Weekend at 0054 to catch the ID and then into some Johnny Cash. Great live tune by JC. Signal was a S7-8 and great audio. This is a first time catch of Radio Appalachia! Thanks for the great show my friend! :)
