Stations monitored thus far on 8974:
ECHO WHISKEY (Net Control)
KILO
JULIETT
MIKE
TANGO X-RAY
TANGO WHISKEY
*Also noted activity on 8975.4. Not sure why they would use two frequencies so close to each other???

Very good signals here on the east coast on 8974 USB. One station c/s (MIKE) has a whirling siren type sound when he keys up. Anybody know the purpose of this tone?

I thought that was pretty funny. He said "Station identifying your self as MIKE you have a crappy radio and you're interfering with my aircraft" Haha.

Lol. I've heard that tone before in other air defense nets in the past. Also the loud feed back squeal is common. Maybe the USN needs to upgrade their HF gear.

There was a discussion about that feedback a while back. Sounds like a toy running out of battery power. Just heard some ENC comms alittle while ago.

I was going to sugguested that it was some kind of fleet comm encription by the net control station. I think it's a malfunction. I think they fixed it now.

NVM it's back.
