thanks for listening and thanks for the reports.
hats off to all the other pirates all around the band.
kudos to the DX enthusiasts.
thumbs up to hfunderground.com
im a well versed, seasoned and experienced "pirate" with extensive radio communications technical knowledge that's been in the scene for more than 30 years.
most of my time spent on the air consists of music and skits and the occasional rebroadcast of old legendary recorded pirate stations.
im offering a "relay" service for fellow pirates if they would like their content played on my "rinky-dink" station.
the prerecorded MP3 can be of any length and bitrate, stereo or mono but must be 44.1Khz sampling rate.
you can choose what server you would like to upload your MP3 show so I can download it, you can message me here for more information.
I also take requests and can obtain any song requested, demos, outtakes, rehearsals, extended and original length versions and unreleased material.
a few details about the station:
I operate at 25 watts AM into a "modified and trimmed" G5RV 10GA wire horizontal dipole with a clear view to the sky in all directions, east/west pattern, about 30 feet from the ground (23 feet above sea level) with a buried grounded 10 wire equal length parallel ground plane consisting of 10GA copper wire spaced one foot from each other (works very well for NVIS and "long").
the transmitter i modified for full response TX audio and modulation to AM carrier ratio, and is a low level modulated solid state amateur transceiver.
I am using "AudioProc" as the 12 band compressor/limiter/clipper for audio processing.
I chose this transceiver for its TX output signal cleanliness, that it utilizes a band switchable LPF in the local oscillator RF stage as well as a band switchable LPF in the final RF output stage.
nothing is more important than preventing/reducing any interference of any type emanating from your station.
an added benefit to low level AM modulation over plate/collector AM modulation is amplitude antenna radiation interference is reduced (think cheap wired telephones).
in the future, I plan on having live remote/relay broadcasts and live "on air" internet communication from listeners, all of this of course will be anonymous with the latter happening sooner.
sometime in the coming months I expect to be increasing power output to 200 watts with the first stages being extensive tests, tuning and LPF filtering at a lower power level of 100 watts.
last but not least, I chose "THX1138" as the identifier because like pirating, its a cult classic and defines the nature of a free but "controlled" society.
pirates should be free to broadcast on the radio and not forced under "expensive" regulation under the pretense of a "good for the people" government that is bottle fed "milked money" from the conglomerates of the broadcast industry who feel threatened by a "LPFM" or pirate who is just having fun with a hobby being "different" than the homogenized industry standard.
happy holidays !
