Ole Forr is a 58-year-old radio lover who tunes into radio stations across the world for fun

A dairy farmer in Norway went to great lengths to tune into CBC Saskatchewan.

Sure, The Morning Edition with Sheila Coles is the No. 1 morning radio show in Saskatchewan. But few people could have expected it to reach a group of listeners more than 5,800 kilometres away— and not through the internet.

Ole Forr doesn't let thousands of kilometres and the Atlantic Ocean get in the way of his hobby.

I wonder if he's one of the guys who is part of the Nordic DX Club? Those guys used to slay the North American stations during the winter.

It proves something that many of the real old timers use to say... "...you don't need sunspots to get the job done."

Andøya is a popular island for Norwegian MW DXers. I know of at least one guy who DXes from Andøya, who has a blog. A different guy than the one mentioned in the linked article, though.
An AM radio Boombox DXer.
+ GE SRIII, PR-D5 & TRF on MW.
The usual Realistic culprits on SW (and a Panasonic).

Yup, the stations I used to work for would usually get a few reception reports from Norway and Finland around this time of the year.  We even had QSL cards we would send back.
