8.076MHz USB...Female op.
« on: March 20, 2016, 2137 UTC »
Been tuned to a female operator on 8.076MHz USB reading out a traffic list or weather report in English, too weak and storm noise knocking signal about.  At the end of the reading she appears to be working weaker stations checking in, "what is your callsign again" was the best I heard.  On frequency from 2100-2130z.  Fading out due to Grey Line shift, any one know who or what this is?

There used to be a missionary net on this freq in the Papua New Guinea area, no idea if it is still active or not.

Thanks Token, haven't heard missionary/church comms for quite a few years on HF, Catholic church had quite a network around the south Pacific and Micronesia also LMS had a radio network.

Tuned to 8.076MHz tonight and nothing heard at the same time as last nights logging, although band conditions are poorer tonight... :)

Tonight it appears that the voices are either Indonesian or Philippines, a lot clearer than previous, then again, the two mentioned pop up everywhere over 8MHz so will keep a further watch on the frequency...
