5185 further testing
« on: April 09, 2010, 0316 UTC »
For the next little while, the still-experimental 5185 dasher will be operating with a slightly different antenna configuration.  It's the same wire, in the same shape, but with a lot less stuff between the transmitter output and the "business end".  Lower line loss will hopefully yield a better signal.

4-10-10

I have listened yesterday evening and today morning without hearing the signal.
Located in central Florida the signal before as reported was strong.
Now nada!
No joy... yet!

Hearing it now (1900 z) can't tell if it's better or worse, but it's easy copy

Hearing this dasher at between 0 to 10 db over the noise with fades.
this is at UTC 2230- 2308 right now!
It's hard to say but signal is about as good as I've heard it overall.

2315 utc  saturday evening
Signal has now built up to strong levels about +20db over noise here in central Florida.
 :o
This is probably stronger than before as my attenuator is in full time and the signal
just hangs there. Its doing a food job down here and sure many more reports will be
in the offing.

Cheers!

Down for a little while between storms and ionosphere weirdness, but it's in there again now.

Stongest I've heard it.... nice signals.

Blinky also quite good today.  Low bands are in good shape, but noisy...
