Mike Radio 1615 USB 20:22 10Nov2016
« on: November 10, 2016, 2024 UTC »
Just heard an ID for a side-band Europirate, Mike Radio at 20:22 during a DXpedition to PEI, CANADA.  Using a DKAZ antenna aimed 30 deg.  Perseus SDR.  Now playing an awful oldies, "I can boogie all night long".  eQSL?   To CANSWL (at) Gmail (dot) com.  Pretty good reception, too!
Listening to the amazing world of radio since 1967
Victoria, BC CANADA and my remote site near Masset, BC
Perseus SDR with ALA 100LN and Flag antennae.  Beverages, ALA 100 and ALA1530 and DKAZ in Masset
eQSLs always appreciated to CANSWL@GMail.com

Very nice catch!  I never knew the Euro guys operated sideband at the top of the MW dial.  I'll have to pay closer attention here..

That was a first for me as well.  This afternoon was particularly good for MW Europirates above 1600 kHz.  I sent him an mp3 file of my reception.  I might have heard him the last time I was on an east coast DXpedition.

Great catch, Volodia! Mike Radio is pretty common on SW, but I have never received him on MW here, neither in AM nor in SSB. Congratulations!
