Wow! Look at the knobs on that baby, Al!

That's a lot of money to hear the many frequencies of Brother Stair.

What about the multiple Penguin Revolution SW & 1.1/Ghz stations set to start broadcasting this year. Leaving the best for last??

I knew in my heart of hearts Inoue-san would release a rx only version of the glorious 7300. Still waiting on a sdr version of the 703.

The 8600 has much wider coverage than the 7300, 100 kHz to 3 GHz. The 7300's range is only 30 kHz to 74.8 MHz.

The ability to decode D-STAR, P25, NXDN and dPMR digital (conventional) modes sounds interesting,
as the AR-DV1 doesn't live up to expectations (apparently). I own the IC-7300 it's lovely bit of kit.

What I meant was a straight sdr rx rig with the core of the 7300, which has outstanding rx performance especially considering the cost.

Would shudder to think how much that will be selling for in Australia.  Good frequency range.  Doesn't look very big though for a base radio, paying top money I like to see a lot of radio on my table.

Perhaps I am old fashioned but the 4.3 inch touch screen doesn't do it for me, prefer old meter, knobs and dial plus digital display.  My Samsung mobile phone has a bigger screen!

The estimated $2K price would be in USA so substancially more over here.  Be interested to see a full road test on it, especially on the 10KHz to 500KHz sector, my favourite area.
