New boards on the HFU
« on: February 25, 2017, 2355 UTC »
We've added two new logging boards recently, based on user requests:

One for peskies / pescaodores, those folks we hear in QSOs on 6925 LSB and elsewhere.

And another for Part 15 beacons on the 22 meter band, around 13560 kHz.

If anyone has a suggestion for another board, feel free to send me a message, or reply directly here.

How about a board for Pirate Radio History ? A place to post historical articles, QSL's, audio files ?

How about placing the euro and other pirate forums under a pirate radio forum heading? Just a bit of consolidation.

Having the pirate stuff under it's own header isn't a bad idea

I second PSWL's suggestion for the Historical Pirate Radio forum. Great idea!

We have the following pirate / free radio related boards:
Shortwave (North American) loggings
Broadcast announcements (sub board of the above)
European pirate loggings
MW Free radio
FM Free Radio
HF Beacons (mostly unlicensed, non Part 15 beacons, but sometimes Russian cluster beacon loggings appear here)
The new pirate radio history board

We could also add a board for any general discussions about free radio stations that are not loggings, that would keep them out of the logging board, where they interfere with my annual summary of activity reports  ;D

These could all be placed under a collection of pirate / free radio related boards (moved out of Loggings where they are now). Loggings could be renamed... something.

Ideas?

A suggestion to rename the Loggings forum would be "Dialogs", in honor of the old pirate radio loggings column in the old ACE publication.

I wonder if a Ham Radio "logging" board would be of interest to others.

These are so many clusters already, not sure why we would need one here. Just my opinion.

I've also had a request for a board related to music, for discussing formats/artists/songs of interest. Since a large amount of free radio broadcasting is music, this seems like a reasonable topic?

Any comments or suggestions? Anyone?
a place where members could post their favorite bands/artists/groups to give free radio broadcasters some insight into what bands/artists/groups members would like to hear.
i like that idea.
for example, any early versions of pink floyd with syd barrett as the vocalist, particularly "Astronomy Domine" live version is my favorite.
