338.95 must be one of if not their fav freq. Ring tones and one sided ssb convo on orderwire pair. Can't hear the gep from here so I only get the aircraft side of things.

AAR ongoing on 343.250MHz 1614Z 02MAY18.

HAPPY or SENTRY 61 is one of the flight, they're heading out of range and just catching bits.

"precontact on the front and then some seat swaps"
"alright."

According to my research, SENTRY 61 is the call sign for an AWACS plane based out of OK's Tinker AFB.  It appears that its main mission is  surveillance and early warning.  What might they have been looking for, I wonder? Hopefully, not North Korean nukes, or something like that.... :: raises a brow ::

And HAPPY 61 is the call sign for planes of the 126th Air Refueling Wing out of IL's Scott AFB.  This unit is part of the Illinois Air National Guard.

An interesting development here....according to Wikipedia, although the primary mission of the AFW is to provide air refueling support...."the unit is also tasked with supporting the nuclear strike missions of the Single Integrated Operational Plan"

Damn.  Is something going on here that we don't know about? :: worried ::

This is almost daily inflight refuel training. The typical customer is a large multi engine ac to support several pilots getting training in the shortest time possible by just seat swaps. I have caught some interesting ac in mid air refuels to include a B2 and I think a U2. Nothing indicative of imminent nukes flying today at least.

Appears to have STANAG4481 traffic with KG84 encryption on one of the orderwire pair. They have much faster modems to use so this is kinda odd.
