Hi all,

Stumbled across this thread via chance. I do HF occasionally, but I monitor local milair in the SW Ohio area and I might be able to pitch in since I see a few of you are catching Toledo and Fort Wayne traffic.

Feel free to follow me @jsoergel949 on Twitter; I try to post there when I’m able to listen in real time.

Unid om in French, then test counts by at least 3 players in "Canadian" english or accents spoken by non US english users.

US CAP has holdings on the freq in question but this signal had the characteristics of an airborne or sat intercept.

the mir space station also used this qrg and is listed as soyuz and iss so my moneys on iss and related

I miss the days when we actually had more UHF MIL air traffic communication. I used to regularly listen to activity over Lake Ontario. It has been very quiet now for probably a decade. One of my favourites was 311.0, STRATO CONTROL which carried the UHF equivalent to the High Frequency Global Communications System (HFGCS) SKYKING broadcasts. Since we no longer have any HF "skyking skyking do not answer" messages, I have not heard any traffic on 311.0 nor have I heard the STRATO CONTROL call sign since then. The STRATO CONTROL call sign was the equivalent to the HF MAINSAIL call sign. Just as the HF simulcasts broadcasts, that UHF frequency would come up at the exact same time and carry the EAM.

I would be currious if anyone actually still picks up any UHF MIL traffic in this AOR (Toronto). I have the receivers and antennae for it and would be willing to park on some frequencies and monitor.

239.9   US Air Refuelling (Pri)
282.7   US Air Refuelling (Sec)
283.8   Air to Air
327.9   Format Training

321.0   SAC (Sec)

273.0   US Military Base ATC

On this page, that I've linked to in several places in this very thread, is a box where you can enter your zip and see logs from within whatever rx range chosen;
http://www.milradiocomms.com/mil_freq_database.html

I’d advise caution on this link.  It worked for me a long time ago when I tried it, but now it delivers strange behavior and browser security alerts.  I think it is compromised.

NJQA is correct. The URL does redirect to random pages.

Now, that is interesting. 311.0 used to be known as SAC (Strategic Air Command) Primary and carried a static call sign of STRATO CONTROL, the equivalent of today's MAINSAIL on HF. Along with occasional air/ground and air/air traffic, this channel carried the "Foxtrot" broadcasts and EAMs, I.E. the "SKYKING SKYKING do not answer" broadcasts. The secondary was 321.0.

You wouldn't happen to have a record of the EAM? The 18:50Z one on HF was:

271850Z NOV 2023
TO: ALL STATIONS
FROM: BENEFICE
DD3ZEV // IILHU BSO4P EZB5B XNFXI OW3G
