13358 kHz Signal 2100 UTC 10April 2017
« on: April 10, 2017, 2115 UTC »
Can anyone identify the current signal on 13358 KHz. On AM it sounds like on then off buzzing, on LSB it has a ringing tone. The signal is S7 in WNY.
2325 UTC - Tone of signal more like ringing on AM, on LSB it has changed to a deep tone. Signal S5 in WNY.

Will have a look for it, could be military operated for alignment and adjustment purposes.  In which case, it would not be 24 hours seven days. What beam heading do you get it best on? Chinese and Korean military pop up with all sorts of weird things in this region... ???

Receiving the signal on an omnidirectional fan dipole so I cannot give you a beam heading.
I have provided a screen shot of the signal.

Nothing there this morning on 13.358MHz at 1745-1820z, nothing at all, propagation hasn't been all that good either.

However, last night from 0825-1020z I heard a weak CW station on 13.358MHz, very weak, only getting odd letters and some other crud from 13.359MHz up to a two on the meter.  Deep fade outs so not high powered.

Will investigate further.  No time signal or anything else other than mentioned above.

An audio recording of this signal might help ID it.
