Tecsun-2000 BFO problem...
« on: May 30, 2017, 2224 UTC »
Purchased a new Tecsun-2000 comms receiver last November and since then it has served me quite well, although it's a little heavy on battery drain when not on mains power.

Early this week I have noticed that the BFO is going further over to the right tuning wise, whilst tuning USB signals, and has reached the of the range.

This has resulted in a station say on 8.076MHz now being on 8.078MHz USB as the BFO will not reconcile on 8.076MHz.

This is very annoying if you log a new station and want to post it as the frequency, due to the now errant BFO, is not accurate.

Any other people experienced this problem?  Set works well otherwise.

Might ring the supplier and seek an explanation, I think it's just out of warranty too.  I have never had faith in any comms gear out of China. >:(

If you can get the alignment data you might be able to approximate an alignment using wwv and similar on air signals.

The manual provided with the radio is an absolute joke, not even a schematic diagram!

Grammatical errors abound, then again I suppose being Made in China it's in "Chinglish." ;D

I tried "reset" function with no result. >:(
