There was TV station that ran something called "Chiller Theater" late Saturday nights when I was kid. The movie that first image is from ran often. A boy hears a loud boom and see's a glow at the top of the hill. He scrambles to the top and there's a crashed saucer sticking up out of the ground and the fun begins. Edit in 45 minutes of commercials and it lead to kids having nightmares and nodding off in Sunday School. "Chiller" was a tool of the Devil according to those old Bible thumping preachers.
