The night got off to a rough start due to static from t-storms in the midwest. I like to use the ratio of night to day decode rates (the yellow part at the top of the ADGPS graphing window) as a guide to how good conditions are. You expect more decodes at night, often many more. Well last night, the ratio was actually less than 1 when I checked in the late evening. All that static was ruining decodes. Later in the night it got slightly better, I assume once the storms mostly died down.
Turns out I did get something interesting, two decodes from Cape Mendocino, CA, which is very rare here. Not so much because is is very far away, I get lots of decodes from west coast stations. But it shares 292 kHz with Kensington which is semi local here, and Cheboygan which usually fills in the rare gaps when Kensington is not being received. Only two decodes, but one after the other, so probably real:
