Radio Free Whatever, 6950 USB, 2156, 10/29/17.  DJ Kool or Jamal with someone interrupting him ... turned out to be DJ Dick Weed wanting to be black for Halloween and Stafen interrupting.  Soviet NA, opening for RFW Halloween Spectacular early into "Halloween forever" music - "Halloween Forever" first song

S6 with good signal here.

2212 Decent signal out west. Some local QRM of some sort making it hard to enjoy, but the signal itself is clear enough. Thanks for the show Comrades!

Hey Comrades, if you're taking requests, how about "Halloween" by The Dream Syndicate? Perfect for your show, IMO.

2224 DJ Dickweed and assistant Stavin on the mic
2232 "Halloween" Misfits
2239 "Halloween" The Dream Syndicate Thank you!!

Comrades, I understand you did some shout outs right before The Dream Syndicate, so thank you. Unfortunately it's not very clear here. I could tell that you were playing my request but I can't clearly hear your banter when you're on live.

2250 "The Killing Moon" Echo & The Bunnymen
2252 "Halloween" Siouxsie & the Banshees
2256 "Ghost Town" The Specials

              Excellent program, comrades!

2316 signal improved, can make out what the Comrades are saying. :)

Ha, there's such a difference in tone between the mics(?) that Stavin's deep voice and Dick's somewhat more trebley sound, that it almost seems like they're using different transmitters. Excellent signal & nice to hear RFW again!

Radio Free Whatever RFW shortwave pirate station
6960 kHz 6.960 MHz
USB mode

"The Killing Moon" booming in at 2248 UTC.  S7 signal with some really deep fades but armchair copy on peaks.  Cranked passband up to 4.5 kHz for this track, sounding very good.  Nice wide SSB audio.  Thanks for the show!  At 2250, signal got much stronger.  Did you turn your amplifier on, Comrade?  valley girl YL with "whatever!" into "Halloween" by Siouxsie and the Banshees at 2253 UTC.  Slight decrease in signal strength but still sounding great nice and loud audio.  "Spooky" into at 2256 UTC.  Deep fade at 2257 UTC, then back up with the same sample from earlier.  Fades are either long and deep or very quick, interesting propagation conditions.  Less fades around 2300 UTC with DJ banter and Ramones track (as I type this...at 2303, signal dropped significantly...dammit!)

2259 UTC - DJ Dickweed and Comrade Stavin singing along,
2300 UTC - discussion regarding deep things and smoking too many cigarettes
2301 UTC - can't say where I am since I'm also a broadcaster too ;) but thanks for the shoutout and The Ramones!
2301 UTC - I'm listening on a remote receiver in Indiana right now due to storms in my local area (antenna is disconnected)
2303 UTC - another fade...of course its as I'm updating my log...then back up...minor QSB
2304 UTC - Ramones coming in nicely, changed bandwidth to 4.2 kHz, great transmitter, sounds like an AM station
2305 UTC - "whatever!"
2311 UTC - still booming in with armchair copy, barely noticeable fading and very little noise
2312 UTC - L7 - Pretend That We're Dead
2313 UTC - minor utility data burst QRM
2315 UTC - same data burst as heard at 2313 UTC again
2316 UTC - DJ Dickweed and Comrade Stavin talking about 80s vs 90s
2317 UTC - maniacal laughter, more shoutouts to HFU posters
2318 UTC - talking over intro to Type O Negative track
2319 UTC - Type O Negative - Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare All)
2320 UTC - very rapid fade down into the noise
2322 UTC - faint music heard now...can tell there's something there, data burst are becoming more frequent
2324 UTC - bits and pieces of music
2326 UTC - totally gone, band must have gone long...over the horizon radar bursts and ute data bursts are now all that's on freq

2253 - Halloween
2254 - Hearing Halloween Themed Show with some great tunes
2257 - reggae type Halloween tune - Ghost Town - The Specials
2300 - banter between DJ Dick Weed and low voiced Stavin... ...playlist given
2301 - Positive ID Given by DJ Dick Weed, into a Ramones tune...
