The latest buzz in pirate radio is the reception of several Latin American pirate stations here in the US. It started with Radio Pirana in the spring, and now there's several additional stations, including Lupo Radio and Radio Dontri in Argentina, Radio Compañía Worldwide (RCW) and RadioTriunfal Evangélica in Chile. There may be some others lurking as well. It's now thought that some of the "bumps in the night" that have been logged in the past were actually pirates from outside the US.

While originally thought to all be fishermen, it turns out many of them are freebanders/outbanders that operate down here when 11 meters is closed. Based on listening, some appear to even be operating from within the US. Lately we've been hearing transmissions on 6965 AM, which were first thought to be another pirate station, but turned out to be these guys, operating out of Chile.
