Yeah, I noticed YX was listed as an icebreaker. So I guess it is a mobile NDB?

There were a few others I did not log because I wasn't completely sure I was correctly interpreting the wonky keying.

It's very interesting how at times two or more NDBs mix on the same frequency, and it's tough to pull out the IDs when they happen to be on exactly the same sideband frequency, I either have to wait for propagation to change, or if the periods are different enough, for one of them to slide to a period of time when other(s) are not transmitting, and the ID is in the clear. Or give up and move on to another frequency 

This is giving me some software ideas though...

I wonder how many of these are Zombie Beacons... no one even remembers they exist. But they're still plugged in, and sorta transmitting.

With everything going GPS, these old NDBs are becoming low priority.
Also, a lot of NDBs (and VORs as well) are being decommissioned and in the process the documentation and reality may not always match.

I'm making some modifications to mySdrPlayback, to  let you zoom in on waterfalls from SDR recordings. Now I can spend lots of time checking my overnight recordings for NDBs!

It would seem so. Then I have to wonder what is the purpose for navigation. I guess it must be so that the helicopters that will land on its deck can find it or to aid with local Coast Guard activity (who have presumably been advised as to its true location). Because if its location is not on an NDB chart, it's not clear to me what is the benefit to general aviation.

Latest loggings. I am starting to use a utility I wrote to display high resolution waterfalls from the overnight SDR recordings. It is not the automated NDB decoding I would eventually like, but it helps.

Some additional loggings, these were from trawling through the overnight SDR recordings for DGPS, with a wider than usual bandwidth to cover most of the NDB band as well, using a new version of mySDRPlayback, which lets you get high resolution waterfalls for arbitrary parts of an SDR recording. Then using DX ToolBox to quickly search for matching IDs for a given frequency. One of these days I need to make a video showing the workflow.
