Yeti Radio 6930 USB 0125 12/17/17
« on: December 18, 2017, 0124 UTC »
Program of rock music - Sounded like Tom Petty tunes (from my weak knowledge) with talk in between.  I think there was ID's however I could not make them out.  Story at one point maybe about being threatened by someone reporting him to the FCC.  near the end many mentions of pirate radio, thanks for listening, etc.  Talk was only about 50% audible here so quite hard to follow.

S4 with fading here

Thanks for the show

0123z 6929.985 KHz USB on with Tom Petty's 'Ready to Fly'
0125z OM talking about left coast, something about less than broadcast quality.  Rolling fades, about S8 on peaks.
0127z Tom Petty 'Refugee'
0130z OM talking about the FCC and Free Radio.  Into Tom Petty's 'Swingin'.
0133z OM talking about the FCC and the internet...'Gonna play some classic rock, some Doors...' Into Tom Petty 'You Wreck Me'

Thanks for the Show!

Picked around 0144 with weak signal and heavy QRM.  Gave station ID @ 0145 but unable to copy due to noisy conditions.  Comments about FCC then lost signal ~0147.
Just a boy with his radio and some wire.
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
QSLs always appreciated.

From my recording around 0145 (or so) I was able to make out "thank you for listening to this radio station with some garbled words and then a mention of a Tom Petty song. About a minute later mentions getting to the west coast and mentions of the FCC; "their up to something; "good night merry christmas".
Northeast Ohio
Now using Shazam for song identification

Heard from 0120 UTC on the SDR recording, generally an SIO 444.  Signed on with Tom Petty "Learning To Fly".
0124 OM talking about Tom Petty, "This is Yeti Man", said beamed to the western US.
0125  More Tom Petty, talking about the FCC, then more classic rock.
0139 Op talking about the station that was interfering with Amphetamine Radio earlier today, who threatened to call the FCC on Amphetamine Radio.
0151 Off.  Thanks for the show, Yeti Man!
