New Biafra Hausa Service
« on: January 04, 2018, 1435 UTC »
Maiden broadcast to be 1/6/18 15110khz 7pm Nigeria time (so if I'm thinking clearly that's 1800z).
Edit:  yes 1800-1900z is correct.

Is that 1800-1900Z daily?

Nigeria is WAT (West Africa Time, UTC+1), so you are correct in your time.

Best of all, they don't observe DST. Good for them.

Weak signal copied in Denver at 1620z on 09 JAN at 15115. Not good enough to claim I'm getting this exact station, but worth a mention.
Denver, CO.
Grundig Satellit 750, Tecsun PL-600, SDRPlay RSP2 Pro.
W6LVP active loop and two homebrewed mag loops (10' and 15' circumference).

Chris - yes I am becoming convinced that it is perhaps Radio Nigeria and not really a clandestine at all.
Once somebody can actually receive them with a decent copy maybe we will find out.

Chris - you are correct.  Clandestine it is!
I have yet to copy them well enough or see a log from someone else confirming content - when I copied them 1/10 I couldn't even confirm it was THEM.

I was able to get in touch with someone from the organization via Facebook. I tried several times politely asking about a QSL or some other sort of verification of my reception, but no dice. They just seemed interested in me calling into their show  ;D

That fight isn't flaring up again, is it? Two of my closest friends in college were dragged into the earlier Biafran War as "volunteer" boy soldiers before they were teens. They could tell some stomach turning tales about what went on when the Nigerian Army turned the tide where they were fighting on the Biafran side.
