uBITX 3-30 MHz 10W SSB/CW Transceiver Kit - $109 until Xmas
« on: December 11, 2017, 1256 UTC »
Thought this might be of interest here. Not a true kit as the board is already assembled. You just need to supply a chassis and wire up the connectors. $109 (includes shipping) until Christmas, then it becomes $129.

The original BITX40 40m transceiver is a fun little transceiver and is easily hackable. I just ordered the uBITX to try it out.

From the website:

The µBITX is a general coverage HF SSB/CW transceiver kit with features you NEED for operating ease, convenience and versatility. It works from 3 MHz to 30 MHz, with up to 10 watts on SSB and CW with a very sensitive receiver. It features digital tuning, dual VFOs, RIT, CW Keyer and more.  The µBITX is a general coverage HF SSB/CW transceiver kit with features you demand for operating ease, convenience and versatility. I did order one and received it. It is on the shelf waiting to be assembled. I want to find a nice enclosure that can also hold a decent sized sealed lead acid battery. My goal is to make this a "luggable" HF transceiver.  I picked up an inexpensive end fed long wire match box to pair it with.

Anyone know of a similar unit that is a SSB transmitter only? I've got plenty of sensitive receivers, but it would be nice to have something for transmitting on the 20 and 40 meter bands.

I certainly would like a kit that would perhaps to 10 watts transmitter only USB and have a DDS as a signal base, plus forget the filter on the sideband. Of course dumb lower sideband and carrier with phasing or some other method. Just no demand for such a beast, but in early ssb days, transmitters were sold separately from receivers. :-X Looking at the radio, its a  deal .. my issue with needing large mag class to assemble this. I think I am interested in getting one if they remain available.
