 8)  This is your typical junk BOX design, but it works obviously and its a single FQA 11N 90. Obviously two in push pull would get 3 db better. But, I dislike the HUGE capacitors used and Junky unprofessional appearance.
But here is  evidence it "ain't Rock science" !!
With the FET packages out there now its just a question of a pro designer and her using the correct tweeking.
So whole issue of the neigh says is proven you were very wrong!!

A perfect illustration why I wait until the end of hamfests when people are giving junked tuners away, to get those transmitting quality varicaps like the ones in pic for nothing for my loop experiments. And the sturdy metal boxes they're housed in.
