My best copy of V24 yet. The broadcast lasted until 1512, but since I'm using the free version of bandicam the recording cut off at 10 minutes. Unfortunately I had just come in (have to take the kids to school right before 1500z) and had no time to set up bandwidth, filters, etc to get the best SNR, so there's a lot of tweaking going on for the first four minutes or so.

Thanks. I've been chasing them on and off for almost two years, since I got into the hobby, discovered this site, and saw Token's post around that time that they were back on the air after being off for something like 8 months. This is the first time I've heard it well enough to hear the numbers. Usually if I can copy it, I'm mostly getting the music JBA, and otherwise just the carrier.

Very nice MDK2.

One thing you might consider, instead of trying to record the video of these things "live", why don't you use the SDR software to record the signal to an I/Q file (assuming your SDR software supports such recordings, most do).  Then you can later replay it, set all the levels/bandwidths/displays/etc how you want them, and make the video from the SDR play back?

That is typically what I do.  When I find a signal I want I just hit record on the SDR software.  Then I have all the time in the world later to get things right to make the video recording.

Also, does your SDR software support scheduled recordings?  If so you can try to set up to record when V24 should be on the air even if you are not in front of the radio.  Earlier time slots are probably going to be a bit better for you at your location.  But the earliest currently active time slot is only about an hour earlier than the 1500 UTC slot you recorded.

Check my schedule here:  http://www.tokenradio.net/Radio/SharedFiles/NumbersTfer/V24_M94_latest_sched.JPG

V24 does change over the year, but I try to keep that sched somewhat current.  You can see there is a 1400 UTC slot on 5150 kHz and two 1430 UTC slots on 5290 kHz and 4925 kHz.  The 5150 kHz and 5290 kHz freqs would be very good candidates for you to receive.

Here is my recording of the same signal you received.  I was at work at the time this SDR recording was made, so I just made the video from the I/Q recording this morning.  I don't upload very many videos of this station, a few a year max, but typically I record every transmission.

@ Token, that's a good idea and something I will do the next time. This was all rather a surprise to me - as you know from our discussions, I've had little luck up until now, I had literally just returned from dropping off the girls at school, and additionally I had just finished an earlier recording of XPA2 while I was out. (I haven't logged it because I don't trust that Rivet is decoding the numbers correctly - it was null and I keep getting 00000 00000 for the two middle groups, and unless something has changed, I know that's not right.) So, yeah, completely unprepared and lucky to catch what I did. Also, the recording cut out because I'm using the free version of bandicam and you get a 10 minutes per video there, and not a second long.

I saw your video earlier, Token. Very nice.
