WWFE 670 am Miami 0130 utc 21 April 2018
« on: April 21, 2018, 1508 UTC »

By process of elimination, while attempting to pull in 670 am WSCR Chicago, I believe I pulled in 50,000 WWFE 670 am Miami last night (April 21 0130z).  There were two OM's talking in Spanish followed by Latin music.  Doing a search this morning, it is the only Spanish station on said frequency on the East Coast.  The next nearest Spanish station on 670 am is in Argentina.  That being the case, it is the most distant station, by 100 miles (KMOX), that I have received in my current abode.  Unfortunately, I could not decipher call letters or location, maybe I'll try again tonight.  The north-south reception overwhelmed the east-west reception last night.

WWFE does not have streaming on their web page so I couldn't compare audio.

Propagation was all North-South last night so probably was the Miami station, good catch.
WSCR (formerly WMAQ  1922 - 2000) owns that freq here...  have never heard anything else on 670.

Hold on isn't Cuba on 670? Pretty sure it's either Radio Reloj or Radio Rebelde. They usually blast up into my QTH mixing with Chicago.

About 25 years ago, I used to hear them semi-regularly on the morning greyline, before our local on 680 switched from a handful of watts to 1 kW. On the evening greyline it was all Reloj all the time, unless a hurricane took them down.

It's been 2001/2 since I last heard them, nice catch.
