KHGZ & WSCR, 670 khz, 0945 UTC 1 August 2018

Interesting catch for me tonight.

This recording features KHGZ (a country station out of Arkansas) and WSCR (from Chicago) going at it on 670 kHz.  A bit strange seeing that KHGZ is a five thousand watt daytime-only station, and WSCR does fifty thousand watts.  Am I hearing what I think I'm hearing here? (Tongue twister alert!)

Note that the file is mislabeled.

I've heard that Arkansas station well into the night on a few occasions. WSCR antenna pattern doesn't reach my area well. I can hear them but the reception is never great unless I go to a long run of wire or a loop. The rest of the Chicago high powered AM's boom in on the ferrite stick in my portables, but not that one.
