It's surprising/unfortunate there aren't any clandestines targeting Venezuela. I recall hearing something about a planned MW station months ago, but have not heard anything since. I am not sure what percentage of population owns a SW radio, it would be pretty easy to beam a transmission there. Perhaps they rely on modern tech / social media. Prior to the economic collapse Venezuela was one of the wealthiest countries in the region, so the population may be well served. Although there's the chance that additional crumbling of the infrastructure could easily take out the cell/internet networks, not to mention government meddling.

Chris - I do not know of any nor have I seen any logs of such - perhaps since Venezuela at recent past was somewhat a burgeoning country the modes of communication were and still are social media, etc as you point out (progressing from other modes).  While other countries that many would consider not as advanced during their history still rely on radio - MW or SW.
