When all the squirrels, possums, deer, and such are running up and down the hiways and byways
and not paying attention to the traffic. It's time to stock up and enjoy - yum!

I once saw a deer get hit on the way to drop something off at friends house. It took all of ten minutes to get to his house and back.

By the time I got back to where the deer was, two guys were cutting off the back haunches with a bow saw and flinging them in the bed of their truck. At least they knew where good parts were.

Buck season starts next week. There's going to be a lot of good eating on those roads.

A guy told me about eating roadkill during the depression and they were grateful for it.

My Grandpa and his brothers used to refer to groundhogs as "Hoover Hogs".

They'd feed the pups on grain until they were good and fat and dig in. I've had raccoon and groundhog raised that way by them, it was damned good.
