Edited this from my Rave On Radio recording last night.  Just a quick sample (4mins.) of this 'buzzing' tx I keep hearing off & on down here in swampland.

It sure seems to fit the profile Chris....I heard it earlier today ~22:23z lasting about 2min. in length.  Damn, that's a heck of a signal coming from France.  Thanks for the info :)

On again @ 22:48z
Off @ 22:49z

At 1:07 on the recording, I began switching my array clockwise from a North Easterly direction to the loudest position coming from a North Westerly direction.

Ran across this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDnPS6U5JX4

I guess when I hear the term OTH Radar, I immediately think in terms of military use.  This piece of corpo-propaganda suggests civilian and scientific uses (e.g. tracking iceberg movement).  That certainly doesn't bode well for the future.

Perhaps they can use it in the short term to track UARS...I've got Pakistan in the pool at work.

Thanks for those recordings, Sealord.  I've been seeing logs for the past week from folks noting that buzz, but for some reason it was barely audible here.  I was able to hear a little of it under KARR's recent broadcast, but otherwise nil.  Might be my reconfigured fugloop - I recently modified it to more effectively null out noisy parking lot/street lights - but I'm surprised it's also effectively nulling out this ute QRM.

Nice recording SL. This is the exact sound I've been hearing up here and it's as loud your recording indicates.
I haven't heard it this weekend, but it was really annoying earlier in the week. I didn't get much response when
I mentioned it on IRC, so I started to wonder if it was local.

Thanks guys....a lot of the weird stuff I hear I just ignore or file away for later reference :)

I've also been hearing some bizarre activity on 6933 LSB that sounds similar to the Brazilian pirate activity on 7000 LSB in the mornings:

Audio(22:48z-22:53z 9-2-11): https://www.yousendit.com/download/T2djclVHcWZTSUM5TE5Vag

Sounds like two or three guys all chatting at the same time (non-english) with someone playing music underneath at one point, so probably just pescadore activity in party mode :)

I gotta get me one o' them fancy Ten-Tec RX-340 rigs.  My Palstar doesn't have that mode.   ;D

A lot of these yousendit audio recording links have expired already. Can you please find a better place to host them?

Email me for the ones you would like to have copies of…....the only files I have an interest in ‘hosting’ are my pirate, spy recordings & some international broadcasters on my Internet Archive pages, hence the temporary nature of the yousendit links.
