I can't find this frequency in the list I have.....here's the first one ended at 1314 UTC
(Decoding seems to be erratic....I have to shift and slant adjust all of them as it decodes) I still can't read the fine print....seems to be a logo on all of them.

Here's the next one ending at 1325 UTC

Here's a 3rd one ending at 1335 UTC

Number 4 ending at 1345 UTC (The app would not let me shift this left or right!)

Number 5 starting at 1350 UTC

Number 6 ending at 1410 UTC

Following the NMG Radiofax Schedule, but the image is a negative vs black lines on a white background
Most times & frequencies posted are only an approximation.
Due to adulteration of the E.N.I.G.M.A. "designators" they're never posted nor ever used.

Thanks sat_dxer! I inverted the current decode while it was running....I can ID the logo now  :)
Is there a reason why they would transmit a negative image?

FWIW: I have occasionally seen the USCG transmit on the wrong frequency (actually it seems to happen more often lately).

I was thinking this, and/or a spur.

It seems that my mistuning the right frequency was the problem! Sorry folks. The correct frequency is 8766 khz USB and 8764.1 khz USB as tuned. Duh....one of those senior moments.

I was tuned to 8764.1 USB when a voice transmission came up on frequency at 1530 UTC. It was USCG Marine Weather forecast out of Norfolk, VA. I quickly retuned to 8764 USB as I was off by 0.1 khz. I wonder if these earlier WEFAX were actually on 8764 USB as tuned AND out of Norfolk?

Here's my google drive link to a couple of minutes of the 1530 UTC marine weather broadcast on 8764 USB

Received this reply from NOAA:
Hi Chris,

Yes, you have stumbled across our marine forecasts that cover the western Atlantic, Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico: Wind Speed Probabilities-Based Tropical Cyclone Danger Graphic, Wind/Wave Forecasts, Surface Forecasts, and Peak Wave Period /
Primary Swell Direction

No mention of the unpublished frequency or location. Now that I have the correct frequency for decode(8764 USB as tuned), I ran the Black Cat app for awhile today the 28th. The signal has some intermittent dropouts and the decodes are unstable. Hmmm...all 3 follow the NMG-New Orleans schedule. Interestingly the NMG outlet on 8503.9 khz USB (8502 khz USB as tuned) is audible but the signal is just above the noise here and fadey. The decodes are stable. The 8764 Khz USB signal was hitting S7.

Started at 1905 UTC

Started at 1925 UTC

Started at 1935 UTC

Here is one I started at 2000 UTC. I tuned from 8502 USB to 8764 USB at 2004, back to 8502 USB at 2008, then back to 8764 USB until the ending at 2011 UTC
(You can see the difference in quality of decode and the stability of the signal)
Soooo....from where is the 8764 USB signal emanating and why the instability?

NMN is the station I have heard most often there (although I haven't listened lately).  Pt. Reyes and Honolulu also use 8764 (rarely heard here).
None of these stations are officially scheduled to use 8764 during the time you heard the signal, so maybe an unannounced schedule change.
If there is a tropical storm or hurricane in the area, they will often  make additions to the schedule.

I suspect crossed wires at the tx site or enroute when they're not on the scheduled freq.

This is definitely a rebroadcast of NMG-New Orleans by the USCG Chesapeake, VA site. Interesting! Was on during all of the scheduled NMG broadcast times, but sadly the unstable signal was causing distorted decodes.

Today the 1st of June and no "relay" of NMG WEFAX at 1200 UTC, so I believe they fixed the problem.  :)
