Excellent reception of T/O G500 with just its whip until sign off at 1600

1158 "Let Me Roll It" Paul McCartney, half hour of unidentified tunes before.

On AWWW last night, Alan described his plans for WBCQ station 6160 which was to make it a "legal" pirate with lots of music.  Air time for $20-25 an hour.  He did say that the transmitter for 6160 was worked on and would provide better reception/coverage.  Super Station 9330 will not be will not be available for relaying paid programming as for now that is solely in the hands of the Church that is financial behind the new 500,000 watt transmitter.
Tecsun H501x (broadcast received on this unless noted), Zenith T/O G500, Zenith T/O Royal 7000, Emerson AR-176, Zenith 8S154, T/O 7G605 (Bomber), Tecsun PL-600, Tecsun PL-880, Zenith 5S320, Realistic DX 160 using 40 feet of copper wire.  With apologies to Senator Gramm for his thoughts on firearms, "I have more radios than I need but not as many as I want."

Speaking as a western listener, the reception is definitely not better on this frequency. They need to do more work or else QSY back to 9330. (Allegedly the super transmitter will be using other frequencies to reach the Middle East better. WBCQ is now advertising 11705 and 15180 kHz among their other frequencies on their home page now.) The old transmitter at 9330 wasn't a great signal but it was definitely a better copy than it is on 49m. (I'd complain about the conflict with RHC at 6165, but they have so many alternatives that there's no point, even if the signal wasn't so routinely undermodulated that there might not be any actual interference after all.)
