« on: August 03, 2019, 0221 UTC »
just signing on abt S9+10

0213  on abruptly w/ unid mx
0216  starting usual roll out mx w/ ann and IDS
0223  "XFM is on the air......My god, this is coming thru the air!"
0227  ID, and the new slogan "East of the Rockies, but west of normal."  .....  not bad.  The freq is clear here.
0235  shoutouts (TY redhat!)  Some occasional selective fading here.  Great audio, but I need to use ECSS LSB due to
         local QRN in the USB.
0246  Audible with a poor to fair sig on an Iceland Kiwi, nothing showing up on European SDRs so far.
0256  " No One"
0258  "XFM...like  you had a choice"
0311  reading an email from oly
0320  Green Day - When I Come Around   some deeper fades now

Good to hear you, redhat; thanks for the show!

Catching the start up of XFM on 6275 with No Control by Pepper, then into talking about radiation of the brain and dog days of summer. Lots of new tunes going to be played. Hopping between 2 online SDR's some where under the stars with a signal of S8-9 and audio always excellent. Thanks Redhat! How about a tune from the Clash if you get a chance to sneak it into all the new tunes you are playing.  :).
Thanks for playing Rock the Casbah at 0327!

0329 - Listening in Flint, MI on a DX440 on the deck, just the whip, while watching the ISS pass overhead. Peaks are 3 bars (S9ish) and quite listenable. Beautiful wide AM signal.
0329 - Clash - Rock the Casbah

0350 - I came in and experimented on Chris' kiwiSDR to see what it sounded like in I/Q mode... there is separation, maybe not the intended soundfield, but it's definitely "stereo"

0422 UTC - He played my request for Traffic's "Walking in the Wind" from 1975... still have 3 bars on the DX440.
0425 UTC - Redhat indicated he is broadcasting in MONO tonight. That's really interesting... I really wonder how the I/Q would sound if he was in C-QuAM mode.

0430 - XFM liner and Bloodhound Gang - Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo... I haven't heard that song in 20 years!

Ooh, this is a fortuitous catch!  I was out with the radio trying for, and succeeding in catching, Radio Austria.  I scanned a little ways up 49 meters, aiming for Radio Educacion, went a little too far and... ooooooh!  Who's this?  X FM booming in onto the isthmus at roughly 0508Z, with IDs, previous tracks played, e-mail address and details on how to get either an E-QSL or a proper postal one.  Evidently, the DJ's got all this music in his head, and is going to do something about that!  Brother, I know the feeling.  :)  Into an Australian artist whose name I didn't catch, but the track is "Cigarettes".  Then a time check - 0514Z - a 'music to the power of X' slogan along with an ID, and a QTH of somewhere under the stars.  Me too. :D  Then playing a band called Blood Orange.  Loud signal with deep fades, but that could just be living-downtown-itis again.  SIO 534.

Thanks very much for the show!  I'd happily go the postal QSL route, being that sort of dame, and I don't mind the 6-9 months' wait time.  You admitted it up front, which is more than fair!  Should I throw an e-mailed report at you, or will this do?
