Join the RocketChat service running right here on the HFU and chat in realtime with fellow radio enthusiasts.

This is the URL to the chat:  http://chat.hfunderground.com:3000/channel/general

You may also use [ http://chat.hfunderground.com:8080/channel/general if your ISP/work/etc blocks port 3000.

We finally have SSL working (thanks Beerus Maximus!), use  https://chat.hfunderground.com:8443/channel/general

If you see a warning about the port number, you can ignore it, it is because the default port for the chat is 3000

You will need to create an account.

Note that if you previously used the old chat URL of www.hfunderground.com vs chat.hfunderground.com you will need to create a new account on the new chat! This should take about 1 minute of your time.

There is a RocketChat user guide here: https://rocket.chat/docs/user-guides/

There are lots of channels or rooms on our Rocketchat. If you click the icon in the upper left part of the window that looks like a globe, you can see a list of them, and join any that look interesting.

There are RocketChat clients for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android: https://rocket.chat/download

Documentation for RocketChat is here: https://rocket.chat/docs/user-guides/messaging/

For the time being, please refrain from posting large numbers of unnecessary images, until we get storage and auto-deletion of old content sorted out.

Also, there could be outages while we get things finalized. Thank you for your patience.

I was looking into this, checking what problems others have had getting their setup to work. I haven't found any solutions yet, but will keep looking.

Do NOT update the Rocketchat app if you get a message saying there is a new version. It may not work with the installed version o the HFU server.

If this happens, you will need to use the browser to access Rocketchat.

You have been warned  :)
