interesting csto tidbit;
"In May 2007 the CSTO secretary-general Nikolai Bordyuzha suggested Iran could join the CSTO saying, "The CSTO is an open organization. If Iran applies in accordance with our charter, we will consider the application." If Iran joined it would be the first state outside the former Soviet Union to become a member of the organization."
Russia already has a mutual defense treaty with Iran, and my guess is Iran already has nukes of their own.






NDCC and CSTO make their desires known on HF via T600 and CW links to their respective subordinate commands, and you can copy their traffic if you wish.

*WEGI may be a general callsign for all strategic forces/commands, or a proword indicating this needs your immediate attention, however XXX and MNL in CW are also indicative of FLASH Priority traffic

**RDL is presumed to be the callsign for all Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces and uses a specific T600 synchronization sequence preamble on all RDL "frequencies", all other links employ a differing preamble of the two known preambles so far

(you can get the preambles and so on but don't expect to see anything but encrypted groups otherwise)

Mention has been made of NDCC/CSTO/RDL communications via the Parus satellite system, specifically a store and forward and mesh topology, making this system an inviting target to monitor;

Two things come to my mind that might be counted on with the Russians at the onset of conflict;
1st would likely be radio silence across the spectrum
2nd would likely be callsign/frequency changes across the spectrum, that is, going by the Russian radio operational art of WW2; and Russian Forces HF operations today are very, almost uncannily, similar to how they operated on HF in WW2.
