13.56365 Mhz Beacon QIW Up and Running
« on: December 26, 2019, 2320 UTC »
This beacon is up and running from my QTH in grid DM06 on approx 13.56365 Mhz.   Its running 5 WPM CW "QIW".  Let me know if you receive its signal.  The first one to have proof (screen shot of signal or audio file) will receive a nice QSL consisting of a Parker ballpoint pen. I collect pens as one of my other crazy hobbies.

Congrats on your new beacon. I myself have this on my to do list. Would you care to mention the type of beacon your using? Thanks . Sorry if I missed it in a previous post.

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm using the Black Cat Systems 22 meter beacon kit.  My antenna is a 1/2 wave dipole.

As information, the QIW beacon has been moved to a slightly higher frequency of ~13.56230 mhz, subject to standard crystal variation, and the antenna location has been changed. Essentially, the transmitter has moved from a temporary location on my electronics workbench to an outside location.  The antenna is a 1/2 wave dipole.  The same competition applies:  the first person to provide proof of reception through either a screenshot or recording will receive a QSL along with a nice Parker or Cross ballpoint pen.  I collect  ballpoint and fountain pens as another hobby...much to the objection of the wife.
