SSTV receiving

Maybe a bit of a silly question, but when receiving SSTV, if your running an SDR (dont have one yet) Do you need to be ready to go when it's transmitted. I know if your listening on an SSTV frequency on say 20 meters of course your going to be set and ready. I mean more so for pirate radio when you don't know when an image is being sent. Thanks

Yes, the extension needs to be active prior to the start of the SSTV transmission on a KiwiSDR.
