Man, it's been a long time since I heard them! They and Mali used to play a ton of good music w/o a lot of talking. The Mali guys wanted porn mags for qsl's, but it's a Muslim country, you had to cut them some slack.

Great Catch! I'm able to receive pretty well, but I can't wait to get my antennas in order for better coverage. Working that Grey line is a great strategy. Especially at this time in our cycle. Let us know if you catch it again.

I was listening to Mali yesterday on 5995 around 23:10z-23:36z with a good signal.  Actually, I get them pretty good down here normally with my array facing West.

Mali on 5995 has been there pretty much every day this fall/winter season, at least after 2200 UTC for me in my western QTH. Guinea on 9650 can be there, but they really turn of the transmitter at will and don't adhere to the published QRT time of 0001 UTC at all. They might be there when they're supposed to be, or they might cut the transmission hours earlier. But Mali is a lot more reliable. They relay CRI a lot, so one has to speculate that the Chinese might be putting some resources into its operation and hence the more reliable copy.
