A Windsor Township resident whose neighbors are upset over her amateur radio tower is within her rights to have the antenna on her property, township officials confirmed Monday.

In Pennsylvania, amateur radio operators' rights are protected by state statute, and municipalities are not allowed to unreasonably restrict the installation of towers less than 65 feet high.

Time to add the extra 10' section to the tower.
BTW, too bad the other "amateur radio" tower shown in the article is a TV antenna. I know I'm old when newspaper reporters don't know what TV is!

I think the only hurdles for prospective HAM tower owners is an engineer has to sign off on the base and tower specs and install, and the thing has to fall within your own property lines. At least that's the rules around here. Dunno what applies to tv towers, for wich there are still plenty around and even some in use.
