I have heard this type of signal for decades and I refer to it as "The Chicken." That's because of the resemblance of the sound to "buk-buk-buk-bwaaaak-buk-buk..."

I have no idea what it is trying to accomplish.

This is the US Navy Link-11 system discussed in the other thread. Signal reports welcome, so we can try to locate about where the transmitter site is.
